RP-G0 was an astromech droid[1] in Industrial Automaton's R5 line[2] that served in the Resistance during their conflict with the First Order. The droid was assigned to the Sullustan pilot Nien Nunb.[3] Around thirty years after the Battle of Endor,[1] it was stationed in the Resistance's base of operations on the planet D'Qar and took part in the preparation for their attack on the First Order's Starkiller Base superweapon.[4] RP-G0 had red and white plating[1] and stood 0.97 meters tall.[5] It was equipped with a Burtt acoustic signaller.[1]

Behind the scenes

RP-G0 first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, a film released in North America on December 18, 2015. It was not identified in the film, but received a designation in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and released in conjunction with the film. Two droids with RP-G0's coloration can be seen in the same shot in the film, one of which is loaded into the T-70 X-wing fighter opposite the Millennium Falcon on D'Qar prior to the Battle of Starkiller Base and the other of which can be seen on the ground beside the same X-wing. It is unclear which of these droids is RP-G0.
