R3-M3 was an R3-series astromech droid which served the Galactic Empire aboard the first Death Star.
Behind the scenes
Hasbro had originally named this droid "R3-O1" for the Build-A-Droid figure they released in 2009 as mentioned in Star Wars Insider 107. However, Hasbro's booth at Comic-Con 2009 labeled this robot as R3-M3, and that is the name that appears on the final toy packaging.
