R2-MK was the R2-series astromech droid companion of the Jedi Master Mickey Mouse during the era that saw the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. Together, R2-MK and Jedi Mickey partook in many galactic adventures. Unlike other members of its droid series, R2-MK bore some modifications to its head, specifically possessing a plate strongly resembling the ears of its master's species.
Behind the scenes
Page Template:Quote/styles.css must have content model "Sanitized CSS" for TemplateStyles (current model is "wikitext").
The creative 'Forces' at Disney and Lucasfilm are proud to announce an all-new character coming to the Disney Parks in April 2010. Every Jedi needs his own astromech droid, and Jedi Mickey is no exception. This spring we will be introducing Jedi Mickey's own droid, R2-MK.
— Disney press release introducing R2-MK, January 2010
This droid was a toy made available exclusively at Disney Parks beginning in Spring 2010. It was meant to be the astromech droid owned by "Jedi Mickey", the Jedi robe-wearing Mickey Mouse released as an action figure as another Disney exclusive.
